Wills & Trusts
Wills and Trusts are tools to specify how your property should be distributed upon your death. They also allow parents to specify a guardian for their minor children or ensure that children with special needs will continue to be provided for. Both Wills and Trusts help reduce legal complications, minimize estate taxes, and ensure an efficient transfer of assets, providing peace of mind for your family.
Powers of Attorney
Powers of Attorney are legal documents granting someone else the authority to act on your behalf for financial, legal, or healthcare matters if you ever become incapacitated or need help managing your affairs. Having these in place ensures that individuals are empowered to act quickly and effectively when needed, helping to avoid court intervention, reduce delays, and protect your best interests.
Estate Planning Lawyer
About Hergert Law, PLLC
I graduated from Cooley Law School where I developed a passion for estate planning by participating in a school clinic where I wrote wills for community members free of charge. I grew up in a household focused on family and visited with at least one of my grandparents everyday. As a result, I understand navigating family dynamics and approaching estate planning issues with compassion.
Before attending law school, I worked as a technical writer drafting proposals for professional services firms. I received my Bachelor of Science in Scientific and Technical Communication from Michigan Technological University (go Huskies!), where I also served as the Editor in Chief for the student newspaper.
My free time is spent building my own family's legacy as my husband and I raise our two young children.
